HonestMall Rules
The HonestMall is different from other marketplaces. It is ONLY for authentic items and all the items are checked for authenticity.
Seller Rules
Posting an item for sale
To post an item for sale, click on the new item button located on the correct section of the HonestMall in which you want to sell.
Fill in the Question
- Title: you must include the brand of item, the style, the size, and the condition, whether it be NWT, NWOT, Gently Used, etc.
- Payment: sellers must offer at least one safe payment method when using the HonestMall. This is done in an effort to give all buyers the option of purchasing an item safely. The choices of safe payment methods are given to you when you begin to list an item for sale. Please choose one. You do not have to sign up for a safe method before you sell, but you do have to be willing to accept one if the buyer wishes. In addition to your safe payment method, you can offer any other payment form you wish. Most buyers and sellers use Paypal.
- Authenticity Guarantee: Items listed for sale must be authentic. As a seller you are required to state how you know your item is 100% authentic. It is extremely important that a potential buyer understands where the item was obtained and how you are certain it is authentic. Anyone caught selling knock offs will be banned from selling from the HonestMall.
- Ebay Username: Please state your ebay username. This is helpful to buyers if you are a seller with little feedback on HonestForum. Buyers can check a seller’s feedback to feel more secure with the transaction. If you do not have an ebay account, please state that on the appropriate line in your thread.
- Instock/Presell/Dropship: choose one to let the buyer know the availability of the item you are selling.
- Shipping Method: We recommend USPS Priority Shipping for domestic items. Please be advised that all items shipped in the U.S. should have tracking. HF also encourages sellers to ship only to confirmed addresses on Paypal. This makes the transaction safer.
- Price: The price of your item should be clearly stated and should INCLUDE shipping.
Additional Information
After filling out the seven questions above you will need to give a brief description of your item. In this paragraph you may restate the condition of the item, tell why you are selling if you wish, etc.
Include Pictures and Measurements
Sellers are required to add actual pictures of the item(s) for sale as well as measurements to your thread.
These two items are crucial to the sale and will inevitably be asked by potential buyers anyway. Do not forget to include pictures and measurements when you are making your original post. You may not come back later and add them, or say “pictures to come” or anything of the like. This will be strictly enforced. If you do not follow this rule, your thread may be deleted without warning.
Multiple Sales:
Please sell one item per thread.
Bumping:
You, as the seller, are only allowed to “bump” your thread(s) to the top of the page once every 48 hours. This rule is set to allow all sellers to have an equal opportunity to have their item(s) seen. If you illegally bump your item you will receive a warning. If you do it more than once, your thread(s) will be deleted from the HonestMall.
Clear Answers and Information
The HonestForum Moderator Team checks all posts and may delete your sales thread for lack of clear answers and information.
Paypal account
Sellers are only allowed to accept money into paypal accounts that are in their own name.
Shipping and payment
Ship only to confirmed addresses
Every sale must be shipped to a confirmed address
Tracking
Every seller must purchase tracking on every item they sell domestically.
Customer Service
We expect all HonestMall sellers to go above and beyond when it comes to customer service.
Buyer Rules
Payment
Every buyer must pay within 7 days.
Confirmed Address
Every buyer must have a confirmed address
Paypal account
Buyers are required to pay with a paypal account in their own name or their spouses name with the correct shipping address
Expectations and demands
We expect all HonestMall buyers to not be overly demanding.
Returns
- If the item is returned due to misrepresentation on the seller's part, the seller shall pay for the return shipping cost
- If the item is returned for reasons such as fit, color, etc, the buyer will absorb the shipping costs
Feedback system
Please use the feedback system respectfuly. Please only give negatives when absolutely necessary. Please no retaliatory feedback.
HF mediation
All mediation for problems such as not receiving goods should be handled with paypal. Other problems pertaining to the HonestMall should be addressed by sending our HF mediator a complaint by filling out this form.
