Seeing all these posts about jeans ripping is depressing. You pay so much for these jeans and they rip that easily.
My kids Gap jeans go through the ringer and I wash every time they wear them in hot water, dryer and they play hard, and I have some really cute jeans my middle daughter wore that my youngest is wearing now!!!
Will this stop me from buying jeans......... No

Can we make a sticky for this problem?? Maybe with a clear list of washes that have ripped? I think that would help everyone here....

I am so sorry hearing about people's jeans ripping. I have addict wash, which is a little tight on me right now and I am fearing they will rip when I bend down in them. This is a good topic though because now I know which washes to be careful with while wearing them

This thread makes me paranoid. Were these jeans not made for bending or sitting down in? I think I spend 90% of my denim wearing time sitting (at work, school, on the bus, at the movies, eating, TV, etc).
I remember I had a pair of jeans (not R&R) that ripped at the side of one of my butt pockets and I didn't even notice it...my mom pointed it out. Would I have to go around feeling my butt all day to make sure there aren't any rips :S

My vicodin roths are snug, and I've worn them a ton of times with no ripping.

jeez, this scares me. i just got into RR and got 3 new ones.. one of them being xanex and its pretty tight. anyways i mentioned RR ripping to my BF and his friend (who was the one who got us into jeans to start with). They strongly feel that RR ripping is rare and that it only happens because people are wearing jeans that are too tight or doing something that causes too much stress on it!

Good grief! So just about every wash is prone to rips! I haven't had any rip on me, but I just fell for the vicodin wash. I think I'm going to get the fabric reinforced near the backside just in case. They're the ones I think that rip the most.
I've only had one pair of pants rip on me. A pair of Hurley corduroys. I was at a bar, and RIP! Luckily I had a coat. I showed my friends my butt, but that's it.

i disagree... my brand new turmoil berlins ripped at the knee when i kneeled to get something. they weren't tight at all and if anything they were a bit loose. and we should be able to kneel in our jeans, no?

Have anyone notice the 2% lycra mix can dry rot if you don't wear them for a long time?

Does anyone know if the IRON ON PATCH can be used on jeans that haven't ripped?? I noticed that the bum area of my jeans are getting thinner, so I'm assuming its going to rip soon. Any way to prevent it from ripping??

Please add to the list of ripped R&R: Kiedis Opal. I was folding my jeans just now and discovered a 3" rip on the butt near the crotch. And to think I was swanning around town in my beautiful jeans, not realizing that my neon green undies were showing!
