Great charity

I just learned about colon cancer risks in nursing and my grandpa died of a combination of colon-pancreatic-bowel cancer.

I think charity is the only thing you can give every penny you own to and not get a single thing back.

I'm not completely down on US tax law, but aren't charitable donations a taxable write-off?

There's your something back...

I think it depends on which... and if so it wouldn't be sufficient imo. Or they'll name a school/facility or something after someone who donated a large amount of money, which I think in fuckin stupid.

Either way I wouldn't ever give to charity.
I also think too many people give to charity just to feel better about themselves, which is almost as ridiculous as giving to charity in the first place imo.

To each his own. But if you ever got a disease like cancer one day and needed money, I suspect that might change your mind. The whole point of charity is to give, not to receive.

nobody has to give anything to charity.

but do realize how damn lucky we are. out of 6billion people in the world we are all living like high rollers compared to the rest of the world. if you make 40k or more a year you are in the top 3% of the world.

I agree with Lianne, giving to charity is like helping when there isn't another way you can help, if that makes sense.
But I also believe there is no such thing as 100% altruism. Even the act of doing good for others makes you feel good.
Man, I am speaking gibberish.
i know where to find my blackcandies.
