AF's is immensely more populated than HF's - every post must be approved by an AF Mod, but there is no fee.
I think the suggestions incorporated above should be implemented:
1) Remove fee
2) Require mod to approve (possibly for only low feedback sellers)
3) Rain whiskey
4) Old mall format!

conflict of interest having mods who regularly sell determining authenticity (i.e. their competition)?
the mall is regulated enough already. screw tiered memberships based on post counts, medals or money paid etc ect. just let people throw their shit up and if its fake, let people scream and shout the bastards into oblivion. was scamming really that big of a problem here before?

Honestly, I don't believe this would be a problem.

Yup, not a problem
Besides, I just delete my competitions posts and use a stupid excuse. Like " sorry Avatar, but I cant let you use pics of children under the age of 12 moddeling your denim, I could get arrested"

There are a few on here who claim AF's mods remove competive sellers...whether that's true or not, I don't know. But I am an eBay seller and a Mod and I would never do that, so let's hope we have good apples over here at HF. I agree and like the idea of removing the fee, having more modding of Mall posts, especially ones with low or no feedback.
Someone mentioned not liking clicking on Mall and seeing the most recent items that people have either bumped or its just a new item. I think its kind of cool because usually I go straight to my size section, but sometimes due to the "recent" items on the first mall page, I see something in the accessories section or elsewhere that I might not have noticed before and I click on it...like a Diesel bag (I want) or a vintage Gucci bag...or some jeans for hubby. It's not always a bad thing.

Yes, it would bring more traffic, but also more fakes. It would be cool if listing in the mall was free only after a certain number of posts.

Selling a ton of shit in the mall, including a couple rare Diesels with tons of pics. AA, Nudie, Diesel; variety of sizes. Hits HF before eBay. Smash n grab.

^^^Yeah but how would that work? You pay upfront anyway. I just don't see $10 as a major stumbling block for fake sellers. If they wanted to sell fakes here now, they'd pay the $10, assuming they'd make much more in the long run. But they generally don't, so I think its pretty safe to remove the fee, beef up modding, and give it a go.

Something certainly has to give around here... I am one of the people who misses the old mall- I hate how NEW sales threads are not highlighted so that they blend in with the masses of old, bumped threads... I'm not sure if it's the economy or some other reason, but I used to be able to sell stuff here soooo easily... now, I'm lucky if anyone buys it at all- listed on 2 denim forums AND Ebay..

ALL AF mods approve mall listings or delete if they are not completed properly.
I rarely sell anything in the AF mall.
Many of the mods do not sell in the AF mall.
Almost ALL of our heavy mall sellers are not mods.
NO ONE deletes a listing because it is a competitive item to one a Mod has for sale.
Thats utterly ridiculous.
If the mall rules are followed properly a listing appears, its just that simple.
Whoever wants to think that mods delete competitors, must be one of those types that think the Moon landing was filmed in Hollywood and is a hoax.
Conspiracy theorists unite!

Agreed
And I also agree that the $10 fee doesnt really stop fakes from being here, although it helps slightly. I have seen newbies try and list fakes, and within 10-15 mintues, they get called on it, and I delete the thread. We have far too many knowledgable members here, so fakes never usually get by
I also think that for a newbie without any sales, we ( mods) should have to approve the threads. After selling say, 5 or more items with no problems, we allow them to sell without checking them first.
Also, I think we should make it manditory, that if someone is selling like 13 shirts for example, they should be in 1 thread.. It forces far too many members posts to the bottom, and by the time they make it back up, they get bumped bacl down.
I am also all for going back to the older version of the mall. While I love the thumbnail feature in this mall, I find myself missing the list view. And I do agree that we should scrap the fee for selling.
The old mall used to always be filled with new gear, and it would move quickly, not so much anymore.
