You dont have to succumb to Apple hardware to avoid windows. If you like ubuntu why not just run that?

Ubuntu is trash. Go with OS X . Honestly, the only people I know who run Ubuntu are those who use it because of their principles (they don't want to pay $$$ for an OS) or those that want to use it to tinker with and love running low-quality, open source Linux versions of industry standards such as OpenOffice. There's no point in doing either if you're a serious professional, and switching to a Mac was one of the best things I've done in a long time. It really streamlined my workflow.

I have a PC, but I use Mac's Mighty mouse, and man I got to tell ya, its pain in the a$$ to clean it. I had problems with scroll ball.

I'm definitely not a fan of the Mighty Mouse. I prefer something with a well-defined left and right click, which I guess is just a by-product of years of PC use. Thus far, the best mouse I've ever used (and I'm still using it) is the Logitech VX Revolution - it's the perfect size for both laptop and desktop use, it's a laser mouse, so none of that crappy can't work on all surfaces optical crap, and best of all - it was only $6 during Amazon's Black Friday sale last year.
