A question...I know some of the folks at the Diesel forum had their denim tailored. For example, Zathans that has been turned to straight leg or Levans that has been tightened around the leh and calf...

When you see these how do you tell if its fake...hmmm It looks like a real Zathan, but its straight leg.....

When I was in college I used to see fakes all the time. The sad thing is, they dont even know it. They actually think they're real and just got a steal off ebay; while everyone else is paying an arm and a leg. Before I met HF, I couldnt tell the difference to be honest, until I learned what to look for.

Ive even met some who dont care they are wearing a fake! I always thought of saying something, but dont want to offend...

im pretty sure this isnt as common as you think. hf is a picky group

For me it's the wash, the fakes are usually terrible, then the stitching (espically with TR's), and then the pocket details. Fake crystals are obvious, they don't shine at all. Fakes are sloppy.

OH! and pocket placement...yes those seven pockets are meant to be at either outseam of the jeans and about 1 inch from your waist band...idiots.

for the jeans that i can tell are fake i usually snicker and elbow my friends to tell them

I saw a girl carrying a fake LV bag at the LV counter one time... I could not believe she had the nerve to walk in.

I see fake Crowns all the time... next is fake 7FAM crystal sigs. Consignment stores are full of fakes. I seriously wonder if they all come from the internet!

The worst was going on a date and realizing she had a fake pair of sevens on. It was only the second date so I didn't even have the heart to tell her. But Calgary definitely has a lot of premium denim, but I'd say I see more people rocking the real stuff as opposed to fake knock offs.

I'd have to agree for the general city population, but around the MU and UWM campuses it's a little different. When I first got to MU I never really saw ANY premium denim but now I see R&R, TR, 7 and Diesel around campus (although its still rare and only on the girls). Even so, I've noticed a lot more people know about some of the better brands even if they don't own any. The biggest issue is that there isn't really a good place in Milwaukee to buy good jeans, especially if you're a guy.

There is one guy however who consistently wears fake R&R jeans, he has maybe one pair of ones that look real but the rest are hideous (including a pair that had a hammer loop like carpenter jeans).

Yeah, you're absolutely right. TONS. Both girls and guys. Most of the ones I see are real, but there are some horrible fakes I see around campus. Some girl was wearing a pair of fake TRs that I could spot easily just a few metres away. But most people I know get them from Underground, Urban, Aritzia, Holts, etc., so I haven't seen any rare PDs that often. It gets boring looking at the same pair on every girl/guy that passes you. That's why there's HF...

ive never seen anyone wearing anything accept baggy TR's where I live, they're reals though. :3
