Of course its all just guesses. Apple likes to keep mum about all upcoming announcements and I don't have a direct line to Mr Jobs. I'd say that the announcement of this new iPod is pretty much agreed upon across the board though. None the less, it's only one more day until it's no longer speculation.

i need a new iPod - I also don't like the mockups 925 and macrumors have posted of the nano - I hope touch isn't toooo expensive!

there are no new ipods coming out sept 5.
instead there is going to be an official announcement from apple stating the features of the new ipod which has yet to have a release date. all of the talk about touch screen etc is just speculative at this point however it seems to be a pretty valid rumor.

i still dont know why everyone is calling the rumored nano update the fatpod or what have you.
its not any wider or thicker in any mockups or spy shots ive seen. just shorter. sure its BMI is a little higher now, but its not quite fat.
