I was using St. Ives Apricot Scrub which I loved but my friend who is an esthetician told me not to use it because the Apricot leaves tiny microscopic scratches and abrasions all over your face. But I need one badly and I was wondering if anyone could recommend me a good one! Thanks!

That is good to know because I was about to recommend St. Ives Apricot scrub because it only seems to work on me. I need a facial scrub recommendation too

My friend is an esthetician at an Aveda salon here in town and she has a good one but it's just so expensive!

so you're a hairdresser and i'm sure you only use professional products on your hair to keep it healthy and looking good...and you recommend to your clients to do the same.

but you would skimp out on stuff to make your skin healthy and looking good....
i mean you can't get new skin if you're abusing it with bad products.

I am around 100 years of age, so my skin needs are different .
BUT I agree with nakedmosher.
You are cleansing your skin, not scrubbing the floor! My dermatologist says that Neutrogena is very good for the drugstore brands (they have a medical line as well). Neutrogena® Oil-Free Acne Wash Daily Scrub
The trick is finding what works for you with any product.
The "scrub" in these products are smooth beads that help remove skin without scratching.

I go once a month to my derm for a glycolic treatment, my esthetician is the" medical" type.
My sensitivity is that my skin hates rubbing, but the glycolic doesn't bother me at all.
MOO.

This is true that St Ives Apricot does not have perfectly round scrubbies but I dont think that it actually harms your skin? It just wouldnt evenly exfoliate as well as say a more expensive one because they are not perfect spheres.

I really like the Vichy au thermale. It's a little more pricey for less product but it works great!

i dont know if any of you tried Eve Lom cleanser, but here in uk its very popular and been ranked as the best on the market, because of natural ingredients and very affective formula, its very simple and thats how it should be. You can get in on ebay.co.uk..

I have been faithful to St. Ives (only the original) for over 15 years. And Oil of Olay moisturizer. Apparently people think I am perpetually 25...that's a good sign! I am 35.

I've heard good things about Clinique's Exfoliating Scrub. That's on my to-buy list!

I've been using Origins Modern Friction, which a lot of people really like. I'm fairly satisfied with it but want to try something that has smaller granules since my skin is pretty sensitive.

I use Aveeno's Skin-Brightening Daily Scrub, and I really like it. Since they recommend it for daily use, you know its gong to be gentle and not too harsh. The scrubbing beads don't hurt like the St Ives scrub. I really like it, and when any of my friends ask me about exfoliants or scrubs, this is what i tell them about.

you can get it at probably any drugstore for around $7
