I was just wondering if people have any brand recommendations for whey protein shakes or bars because some have a nasty aftertaste. I am also trying to find out which brands are the best quality.

I use Elite Whey Protein Isolate, it's chocolate flavored and tastes decent compared to some protein shakes.

Bodybuilding.com - Optimum 100% Whey Protein - With Faster-Acting HYDROWHEY! On sale now!
This stuff is great. I mix it with milk (never tried with water) and it's very tolerable. Way better than some of the stuff that I've gagged on over the years like IsoPure, etc.
As far as bars go, I've never had any with a decent amount of protein (30g+) that were any good. The ones with lower protein can be ok, though.

i've tried south beach diet bars (19g protein) ... they're ... tolerable.
the slim fast high protein (15g protein) are good in the chocolate chip granola flavor.
i've never tried the ones with tons to protein (30+g) they have too many calories then i would like.

as far as protein shakes are concern, the "best tasting" brand is Muscle Milk.

I like Hammer Bars for a good snack. They are really tasty and vegan, organic, raw, Kosher, gluten free etc.

Greens Plus chocolate peanut butter whey protein bars are incredible. They are a bit expensive but they are delicious, and really 'clean' food. Most Vitamin Shoppes have them. As for shakes, I love Biochem Greens and Whey, chocolate or vanilla. Jay Robb makes great tasting shakes too, as does Nectar Naturals.

Thanks for all the suggestions and I will have to get around to trying some I have found a good whey protein powder called BioX, which is Canadian and it mixes very well with no icky taste.
