alright, so I was wondering if anybody could help me...I have really really curly hair, and well, right now, I have it cut in a Faux-hawk style and well, the gel's I have don't cut it... so can anyone tell me of a really strong-holding gel or maybe even wax that I could get so I can stop going out with a flattop and go with the faux?
TiA
also, what kind of hair products do y'all use, just shampoo & conditioner or more than that?

tigi's bedhead mohawk gel will hold it ... but it'll give u a really gelled look
if u want something with a more matte finish you could try tigi's hard to get

I recommend Bumble&Bumble Sumotech or Sumowax. They're the strongest holding products I've ever come across, and they don't make your hair look too "product-y"

When I had a faux hawk I used something called Short Sexy Hair FRENZY. It comes in a little tub with a yellow lid and it's purple. It's a strong wax. Really thick. Works great for faux hawks...(I am a professional hair stylist).
Also, if you have curly hair that is all frizzy, I would recommend Redken Smooth Down. It's good stuff. Shoot me a PM if you have any questions!

Good luck! There is also an AWESOME serum out there for smoothing down frizzies after you have your style. I forget who makes it but a lady at my work has it. And it's awesome. I will find out what it is.

I agree, this stuff apparently works extremely well for what you want and its cheap! I would suggest getting their glue removing shampoo as well, its easier to get out when you jump in the shower, it prevents nasty build up and flakiness.
