So here's an embarrassing topic for conversation. I have been sweating like crazy during my workouts lately! I have never ever been a sweater and I have been working out for years. I was always the gal who could work out hard and still leave the gym pretty sweat-free.

Lately (past 3-4 months), I get just so hot and sweaty during my workouts! My trainer told me that the better shape you are in, the easier you sweat. Is this true? I am definitely in better shape than ever and my strength training and cardio workouts are much more difficult and more efficient now thanks to my trainer. I just get so hot! Sometimes I think it is the building because it is pretty hot in there, but nobody else seems to be sweating so much!

Why else could I be sweating so much? What can I do? Help from the teabag experts please, lol!!!

This should answer your questions

If You Don\\\'t Sweat During Exercise, Is It A Waste Of Time?

Sweating varies greatly from person to person. But I would bet your reason for your profuse sweating is simply to cool your body off more quickly then usual, and it seems that because you are going harder then ever in the gym, you are noticing the greater amount of sweat your producing

I have never ever heard of someone saying " oh look, your sweating, that means your in great shape", the guy is just kissing your @$$. Many trainers look to see how easily you sweat as a sign of how bad a shape your in.

That doesnt mean your not in great shape, but your not used to the current pace your putting yourself under, so your body is trying to adjust to it by cooling you off more quickly

Thanks cutup!

Crap! I was hoping it was just because I am in such great shape! Lol! Really though, I guess it must be a combination of the gym conditions (gross and hot; especially in the summer) and the pace of my current routine, like you said. I wonder if hormones can have anything to do with it; like after you have a baby, etc?...

I really appreciate the feedback!

I have always been a "sweater" (+ I get so red in the face when I workout, I look like I'm dying), but now that I've just had a baby, I sweat even more! Hormones definitely have something to do with it.

Bang on

There are direct correlations between water retention, and your body having to work harder because of it. That results in more sweat being produced

So during the time of the month when your retaining the most water ( or pregnancy and immidiatly afterwards) you will be sweating the most

The jury is still out on BCAA, there are many studies both for and against it, so I jus stay away

Colustrum is an absolute waste of money though. You really arent loosing fat, it just empties out the contents of your stomach and makes you loose water.

I take

Kre-Alkalyn Creatine : Great for strength with no bloating, and it also doesnt produce the waste product "creatinine" which can damage your liver if used in excess for long periods of time

Glutmaine: One of the best recovery agents out there, and its dirt cheap

Glucosmaine : A must for strong tendons and joints when your lifting heavy, again very cheap stuff

Greens : I am not a fan of vegtibles AT ALL, so greens is a must. They help clean out your colon ( which allwos for greater nutrient absorbtion) and make you feel energized almost all day

Omega 3-6-9 oil : Again, great for joints and overall diet

Mega Men Multivitamin : You cant even begin to workout without a good multivitamin. Athletes need much more nutrients then the average person, a goodmulti is an absolute must

And of course protein

It sounds like a lot to take, but when bought in bulk, it is very cheap. I make a shake with glutamine, Omega oil, greens, and protein after I workout, and when I wake up.

I have severe arthritis in both shoulders..have had 3 operations. I tried glucosmaine for awhile and it didn't help. However, I recently began to take GNC triple strength fish oil (took flax seed oil for years) and it seems to be helping my shouders.....I think

Glucsosamine is amazing stuff, but it needs to be taken for a minimum of 3 months before serious changes are noted. Likewise it has to be split into 2 doses and taken with food for maximum absorbtion

How long did you take it for?

Take it for over 3 months, and take only glucosmaine, not mized with chondroton. They jury is still out on many of the things they mix with glucosmaine ( encluding shark cartilage)

With all the filler they add, you sometimes get less then %50 of glucosamine left in the pills. I used to have shoulder problems and couldnt do a bar military press for the life of me. Now 150 pounds is no problem with no joint aches afterwards. I swear by the stuff

I do very limited shoulder work.....no dumbells mil press...just smith machine presses but not directly overhead..I keep the bar slightly in front of me and the chair not directly vertical...I keep it at a slight angle. I also do front db raises...and shrugs....that's my total shoulder routine...it sucks but I've got no choice
Unfortunately, just about every movement involves the shoulder at some point...bicep curls are a killer..the supination HURTS.(yeah hammer curls i know)

what I miss most is tennis and racquetball and pickup baseball games.
