Are your periods bad? Like super painful? I personally don't think it is a good idea to not have a period. I find that going against nature like that is bad, but this is just my personal opinion.
I hope your new birth control option works great for you! The pill worked great for me. Made my periods more manageable. Good luck girlie!

I gained about 20 lbs in 4 years.
When I first joined the forum I was a size 23, now I'm a 25/26.
My periods were horrible.
I know a lot of females say it's not normal to not have a period, but for me, my periods weren't normal.
At first it was. little cramping. nothing advil/aleve/tylenol didn't fix.
But then as the years went on it got worse.
**TMI**
Before I went on the depo shot, when I got my period I'd have really bad cramping (I'd take like 4 advil/aleves at one time, and the symptoms never went away). I wouldn't have an appetite, and wouldn't eat anything, but I would throw up. And that was monthly. And when I did eat I'd throw up more than once (One time I ate 4 startburst like candies and threw up 4 times!).
Then there was a feeling that I could only describe as bloated. I felt like I was pregnant... I would go to the bathroom, and there was no blood. It was only in the tampon. It didn't come out when I peed. It really felt like the blood was just sitting in my uterus.
When I told the Drs they told me to go on BC, because I may or may not have endometriosis (sp?)
I have to take the ring out tomorrow. And I'm nervous about getting my period (Insert nail biting icon here)
