what to do????
i tried pencil and crayon type (both water proof)
from a so so brand to chanel
but it always smudges............ after half an hour (sometimes even less)!!!
so i end up looking like i just cried........
is it because my eyes are too watery and small????

what can i do to prevent this?

I've done extensive research on MakeUpAlley.com...

The best eyeliners from what I've gathered is either Bobbi Brown's gel eyeliner (budge proof) or Smashbox's. Both will be slightly pricey..

Try avoiding too much moisturizer around the eye. Instead try an eye gel & wait a couple mins before applying any makeup.

Also, try this three-layer application technique:

Using a Q-tip, trace a line of neutral-colored matte powder or eye shadow around the circumference of the eye as a base on which you'll place the eyeliner.

Then, use a pencil liner in your desired shade and dot along the lash line, creating your desired shape.

Last, using a fine-pointed brush and an eye shadow in the same shade as the pencil you used, trace over the pencil liner, staying within the line you drew with the pencil. This may help as the matte powder will help absorb any moisture therefore longer stay and less smudging. Also talcum powder works well!

I have gel eyeliner (usually MAC fluidline but have used Bobbi Brown as well) however, I don't think it's all that easy to apply to the bottom part of your eye. When I want to my lower lashes, I generally do either of the following: (1) heat a kohl liner (this can be done by holding a pencil under a hair dryer momentarily) to make it softer and then trace along my lower lashes or (2) use Stila convertible eye color (the automatic liner is so great IMO). The Stila option is great because it comes with a sponge like point that allows you to smudge the line a little bit AND some eyeshadow to further define your eyes. I would recommend looking into Onyx: Sephora: Stila Convertible Eye Color: Eyeliner

You've got to try the Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner-- I can vouch for it too! Of all eyeliners I've used before, this one seems to be the most "stay put", even on my lower lashline. It's $19 but totally worth it because you use a small amount each time so the little tub it comes in will last you awhile.
You can have whatever you like.

I have this same problem too... thanks for the tips, I def want to try the Bobbi Brown.

You can also get permanent eyeliner on your lower lid, right? I'm thinking about doing that.

Also, with the Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner you'll need their special brush. You can get a cheaper eyeliner brush from Sephora instead, only Canadian Sephoras do not carry Bobbi Brown..

My mom did this a while ago! Me, personally, I'd be scared to do something like to my eyes.

Annie, I don't think you need any special brush with the gel liner. If you use a thin eyeliner brush, it should work ok too.

This Benefit product is AWESOME and it's called She Laq. Its a clear liquid makeup sealer that you can put over any makeup on your face (it comes with brushes to apply it with) and it seals it.

It costs $30 and you can get it on BenefitCosmetics.com

*although I would try looking for it on ebay
