Ok, so I'm getting this wierd skin thing on my chin. Gosh, how embarassing! But I figure I'd ask the HF gang before heading to the doctor.

So ya, I'm getting these weird build ups on my chin. It looks almost like it would be acne (no black head, no white head, but about the size of a black head I guess) but there is NOTHING in it.

I'd popped, poked, squeezed, and cut open them but there is nothing in them. No fluid, nothing. They don't hurt and really are not any color. I removed a couple (oh god I know it was not a good idea) and they just came back...well at least I think. I didn't remove them all and there still seems to be a lot.

At first I thought it was because of my face cream (I dunno, too oily or something) but I haven't touch my chin with it in a week, and it's not happening anywhere else on my face. I'd exfoilated my chin, scrubed it with every type of clean that usually my face clears up in within a few days and nothing. I don't think it's from me touching my chin because it is just on the front ball-ish area of my chin and not on the side where I rest my hands.

Any ideas? I don't even know what to google!!!

Could it be coarse hairs popping through? I get those on my face and they look like little pimples when they are emerging

^ no, no hair. Seriously there is nothing in them. I've pried with tweezers, needles, everything. It's just like extra skin. If you saw it you'd swear there would be a bit of fluid but there isn't.

So as of this morning I've switched EVERYTHING out of my facial routine in the morning. New soap, new moisturizer (which I'm still avoiding on my chin), and new makeup (which I wasn't reallly putting on it anyway since you can't really see it unless your really close to my face)

I'm pretty annoyed. I wanted to get grad photos but I've been waiting for this to clear up (although I know you probably wouldn't see if I have this fear that some extreme lighting will some how make my chin look like chicken skin). I figured I'd go to the doctor next week and ask them what's up, but was hoping someone would have some advice first. I just don't want to have to take some meds for this.

Sounds like you have open pores. An opening with nothing in it = a pore. Maybe you are being a little obsessive? How can anyone even notice if theres nothing there? Can you find a pic or somerhing to demonstrate? Im confused!

hahaha ok, I know it's sounds like I am being obsessive but you can seem them. They are about the size of goose bumps, but not far apart like actually goose bumps.

Just little almost bubbles of skin on my chin. They don't hurt, and they are pretty darn smooth.

Could it be extra dry skin? I had something similar as the weather changed all around my mouth, but regular extra strong face lotion seems to be taking care of it.

actually I just went to the doctor and it might be something wrong with my liver.... ya I don't know. Apparently something can go wrong with your liver that causes enzyms to rise on your skin.

I'm checking out another skin place tomorrow, I have a consulation for laser hair removal and I"m going to see if they can check that out too.

I allso have an appointment with an allergist tomorrow am (nothign related to this, but I do plan on asking).

SO hopefully I get to the bottom of this!

Totally guessing...

- Molluscum
- Milia (sp)

Either way, your doctor will likely let you know what's up or refer you to a dermatologist. Let us know what happens...
