Has anyone had their eyebrows threaded? And, is it that painful?

i get mine done every few weeks i feel like threading gets the hair better

as for pain, i have a fairly high pain tolerance, but sometimes it does hurt. it kind of feels like someone is taking a razor blade to your face, but after a while, you do get used to it and it's not too bad
my quest is now complete no more jeans for a long time!

ahh i love getting my eyebrows threaded...but i only thread once a month (my eyebrow hair grows back slow) my eyebrows turn out 10x nicer than being waxed simply because they can shape it better and like evelyn mentioned it gets the hair better

i thread once a week and it hurts like a bitch for me
if i wait longer than a week, it's very painful but that's only bc i have coarse hair

i like the way my face looks after threading as opposed to waxing and it's easier to get a nicer shape with threading.

hmmm, I wonder if I can find a place in chicago that does this...

I usually get waxed but, it makes my skin break out...I would love to try threading.
What?

i love it and get it once a month, its not super painful but my eyes do tear up every session, i guess the pain is bearable, but the results makes it all worth it, plus its cheaper than waxing, well in van its only like 3 or 4 bucks, with tip 5 bucks

When I was in jail (yes I went to jail for a few days) the women were always doing this. It's more for women who have bushier eyebrows, correct? I am not super hairy and I tweeze so it's not really for me, right? It seems cool though. However, I don't trust anyone with my eyebrows. They are one thing I am confident about. If someone screwed them up I would kill!

I always walk by these places in NYC that show videos of eyebrow threading. It looks so frightening. I'm not ready for that!

I always tweeze, but I can NOT get my eyebrows to match. Am I retarded or does anyone else have that problem?

I absolutely cannot tweeze after about 8 years of getting my eyebrows waxed. the pain is too prolonged for me to deal with. i got pretty used to getting my brows waxed and after a while it didn't hurt at all really. my skin recently got pretty sensitive and it would start to lift sometimes from the wax (i've gone to the same girl for the past 8 years - no change in the paper or the wax) and it would get pretty red and irritated.

a couple months ago, one of my indian friends introduced me to the world of threading and i've never looked back since. i wouldn't describe the sensation as pain - it just feels like someone is tugging at the hairs - it definitely does not hurt like waxing does the first few times you get it done. my friend also said that the pain factor depends on the threader too - the girl i go to is quick and I guess, pretty gentle. i think i get the same shape as i did with waxing (my old waxist would spend 20-30+ minutes to shape them), mostly because since i had gotten it waxed for so long that the root became so damaged that the hair grew in thinner and thinner. the threading just acts as a maintenance of the shape that took forever to get.

i would definitely recommend going the threading route - it's quicker, less painful than getting waxed the first few times, and often less expensive.

Lindsey - I would try going to someone to get them shaped a few times and then you can just maintain the shape they got going for you afterwards.

i get waxed monthly (down there) and the lady who does it ALWAYS does my brow for free. she thinks since its become so mainstream, it became way too expensive, so this is her act of rebellion against it.

i think i don't mind the pain much, because after the pain of the waxing down there, it doesn't seem like much. plus, its fairly quick, so the duration of pain should be bearable. and if you have thicker eyebrows like i do, threading usually result in a much more natural look then waxing.

I much prefer threading to waxing. I find the hairs don't grow back as quickly than when I used to have them waxed. Its pretty painless too
