Actually...

"The Marketplaza is not automatically accessible to members with a certain post count or time of membership. Invites to the Marketplaza are given out on an individual basis upon review of an application."

And they are not currently accepting new applications either.

Yeah, the MP is a privilege and it takes months for approvals even after you meet the minimum qualifications. The rest of the forum is very informative and active too.

OMG I was just reading the rules to see why nobody is responding to my requests if any one is going to a particular SS and one of the rules are:
  • No requests for buying items for people that cannot get to a store themselves.
Locking down the marketplace is one thing, but totally devoiding people of any kind of commerce or ability to get what they want is just kind of annoying imo.

Can I just say I LOVE HF and how friendly the members are and willing to get stuff for each other when we are able!

It's complicated. They do this to prevent innocent buyers/sellers from getting scammed or trying to prevent it as much as possible. Anyone can create a user name ans go on there requesting to buy or sell all sorts of things so they are trying to minimize fraudulent transactions. TPF has a lot more members compared to HF and the value of most designer handbags and shoes/accessories are usually much more than designer jeans so there is more risk involved. They don't do it to be mean or to be on a power trip.

Just keep posting and participating on TPF and you will get in eventually. I got in within 2 months of actively posting. Make sure not to start drama on the board because that will work against you. Good luck!
