I'm looking at some All Saints T-Shirts, Cardigans and Polo Shirts and am wondering about the fit. UK sizing seems to be smaller than EU or US sizing to me i.e. a UK 42 shoe size is a EU 43. Is this generally true of clothing too? My chest is just shy of 40 inches and I see the fit guide says M is 38" and L is 40". I know often this can sometimes be read M = 38-40 and L = 40-42. I like a good close fit but of course don't want too small.

Those who have All Saints things, how would you describe the fit? I wear M in about everything in tops and don't know if I should get M or L with All Saints.
