I think it would be nice to have all Dior questions go into one thread here so people can help each other out without having to visit many threads. Anyways, I thought I would put a simple FAQ here. Credits go to superfuture.

How does sizing work?
Measurements new and unstretched are the tagged size plus 2 around. Divide this number by 2 if you want the measurement across. Example: Size 30 = 32" around, 16" across. Expect around 1" in stretch around from a brand new pair. Sizing up once from your "Diesel size" will probably get you the right size for MIJs. Size down once from your MIJ raw size for MII raws.
For washed Diors, size up once from your MIJ raw size for MIJ washed styles. Stay with your MIJ raw size for MII washed styles.

Example:
Diesel size = 30
MIJ raw = 31
MII raw = 30
MIJ washed = 32
MII washed = 31

Please be aware that some of the older styles do run smaller, and it would be best to get measurements if possible.

Inseams for raw jeans always measure 37-38". Most people keep them unhemmed and stack them. Dior cords and other jeans measure 37" to 40" in the inseam, increasing with waist size.

What is MIJ and MII?
Made in Japan and Made in Italy. The MIJ jeans are slightly slimmer, and stretch less. MIJ cost more than MII. Most people recommend the MIJ over the MII.

What is 17cm, 19cm, 21cm?
These refer to the hem width at a certain size. The 19cm is the taper model, while the 21cm is the straight model. The 17cm is more tapered and slimmer than the 19cm model.
For MIJ at size 32, the hem measures 19cm. Every size up increases the width by .5cm and every size down decreases it by .5cm. Add 2cm for 21cm model, and minus 2cm for the 17cm model.
For MII, add 1cm to the above measurements.

What sizes are offered?
26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 36, and 38 (rare?).
Size 26 is mainly only offered in Japan.

since this is the dior denim thread... i just wanted to express my frustration.

wtf!! where are the 27s at?!?! ive been waiting so long. ive called almost every single store that carries dior and none of them have the smaller sizes. talked to thegrapist over @sufu and he says its coming soon... but its been soon for quite a while and i REALLY want a pair. omgomgomg. if they dont come soon im just going to get APCs or something.

Does anyone have experience with brown fashion. If you live in the U.S. will they ship to you, they are in the U.K. And will you get raped with surcharges and fees?

clockwork - sizing for the washed jeans usually runs tighter, so most people size up 1 from their mij size for them. there is some variance though.

mihalis - its really hard to compare the sizing because dior cuts fit very differently. as a general rule most should go up 1 size for mij, though depending on your body type some could go with their diesel size. its best to go by the measurements and know what will fit you based on that.

antmoney - browns fashion is legit and i don't think you will get raped with their fees, but you need to call your order in. they DO NOT update their stock online so if you order based on their website you will have your order cancelled more often that not.

i found a good deal on some 19cm that are barely worn, but the person washed them twice. Because of this, is there now less potential for fading and or creating my own honeycombs, wiskers, etc? The don't really have any of the other person's fades yet.

just got mine over the weekend, had two size up one from my diesel (got a 31) and it is tighter than my slammer 71b (w29), i was almost considering getting a 32

I do think that a pair that has been washed still has potential for fades. They will probably not have as much noticeable results compared to a brand new pair. There might also be a problem with where the previous owner's honeycombs sit on your leg. If they are faint, then it shouldn't be much of a problem.

Ok, heres the thing:

i have a 21cm in 30 and 19cm in 31

i can hardly button the 19cm
the 21cm i cant even button the 3rd button

do you guys think i should keep the 30's or the 31's?
will the 30's stretch out a lot?

The 30s should end up close to around 16.5" across (maybe a bit wider). The 31s should end up around 17" across. Measure a pair of jeans that sit at the same area you want your Diors to sit and see if it is anywhere near those measurements.

Well no. 30s should be 16 across. You divide the tagged size in half than add 1. So 31's would measure 16.5 and 32's should be 17...

I was accounting in the stretch.

hm, just measured my jeans:

thanaz 71j (30) = 17 inches
slammer 71b (29) = 17 inches
yarik 88z (30) = 17 inches

so do you think i will be able to stretch the 21cm to 17 inches?
or should i just keep the 19cm

If you plan to sit the Diors on the same area where your Diesels sit, then the sz 31 19cm should work.

I just got my size 32 21cm in the mail today. They measure 17 inches aligned. Fit snuggly. I could size down to a 31 though..

I think you should size down.. my 31s stretched a lot from 2 wears..
i am even considering a 30 (i couldnt even button the 4 buttons on the 30's)
