might as well...$200 would be a sweet deal for MIJ raws...i just bought 5 pairs of diors though...trying to get rid of a couple...but i'd definitely consider buying another at that price

I thought I'd contribute to this.

Had these MII's for about a year and a half, worn hard for about 8 months, lots of soaks, and washes. Not a whole lot of visible wear. Just took some photos while waiting for a bus.

i tried on a pair of diors today at saks. they were really glossy and had a greenish tint to them, no fading but definitely not raw. they were MIJ but i'm not sure if they were 19cm, does it say on the price tags usually?

anyway, they fit like shit on me. they were size 32 but surprisingly tight in the waist. i thought my dior size was 31 (i wear 29 in diesel). i couldn't sag them low on my hips. the thighs were loose, had too much slack for my tastes and looked stupid. they draped horrible too, but that's expected from new jeans.

needless to say, i didn't buy them. they were $225 which was 40% off retail. they had a washed style as well but i didn't bother with them, they were fugly and looked cheap.

i really wanted some diors, but now i'm on the fence about them. i really need to go to the dior store and try on some 17.5cm raws i guess.

the hang tag (the grey one, there is no dior pricetag unless the store adds their own) will tell you if they are 19cm or 21cm. it will say something like 'pantalon bas 19" or "pantalon f 19" or something like that. it varies from pair to pair and tag to tag, but one of those 2 numbers will be on it somewhere.

the waist will stretch in most of them, but the fits vary greatly among the washed jeans. in general based on your diesel size you should be a 30 in mij raws, 30 in (most) mii washed jeans, and a 31 in (most) mij washed jeans. and i don't see any possible scenario in which you could fit the 17.5cm cut.

^really? damn...the sheers you got were sexy. i'd be fine with the 19cm, though. i think the ones i tried on today were 19cm; Saks added their own tag and i remember it saying 19 somewhere on there.

my thighs are pretty thin, or is the concern the hips on the 17.5cm? i'm not hippy but i'm not super narrow-hipped either. i want to go to the dior store and try on a bunch of stuff but i don't want to go until i'm really ready to buy a couple pairs @ retail.

honestly though, i know dior is all about the cut/fit, but i was under the impression the denim looked and felt good as well. the two pairs i saw today weren't that nice. granted, 2 pairs are not indicative of the entire dior denim line, but i was pretty indifferent and disappointed =[

^hips and thighs on the 17.5cm are tiny. the hips are VERY narrow.

do you even know what 2 pairs you saw? i think i know one of the pairs you described and they are indeed shit. but i'm not sure what you are expecting. the denim really isn't anything amazing. the mij raw denim is one of their nicer examples, but even that isn't a huge step up from diesel. and most of the washed pairs are pretty even with diesel imo, definitely not notably nicer if at all.

actually, dior cuts may not be for you. as i look at your avatar i notice your thanaz are hella tighter than mine. for me to get the thighs where your are the hips and waist barely stay on me. and with dior for me to get a similar thigh fit to thanaz the waist and hips are pretty brutally slim. so for you to wear dior you would need to either size up the waist to the point where the thigh is baggy, or fit the thigh and probably never be able to button them. just speculation, but its possible they might not work for you.

i guess i'm spoiled by diesel quality and construction and expected the higher price on diors to yield some small difference in quality. oh well, the MIJ raws are what i really want anyway.

i'm not sure exactly which pairs i saw but they were both 19cm (pretty sure) and the greenish/glossy one i described was MIJ. the washed pair was MII and it was dark blue with minimal fading on the thigh, no whiskers really. it was pretty boring and the darts on the back pockets looked shitty.

after today, i think i agree with this! but until i try on a shit load of pairs in a couple sizes i'm not gonna give up hope! lol

also, the jeans in my avatar are size 28 and they are 70k which are 100% cotton and pretty tight/rigid. most of my pairs are loose-running washes that are in size 29 (86c, 8aa)

i've since traded the 70k for another 70k in size 29, which are still too tight for my liking, so i don't wear them much. i get a nice sag on my thanaz which i can't do in dior size 32 so perhaps i'm screwed =[

the raws stretch more and have a bit more forgiving fit in general, so you can probably make those work.

saks chicago has 32/33 in umc. i know this is going to sound weird coming from me of all people, but it was a bit too much wash-wise for me. and the 32 were too big.

i still want orange overdyes and grey dauphins.

i should try on 17.5s and take pics. lol.
allegedly tier 1

barneys is having a sale on monday similar to saks. all mens shoes (even lanvin & rick owens) and all men's designers clothing (excluding dries and balenciaga only) are 40% on monday may 5th only. however they are honoring the sale prices now, so you can go in today or tomorrow and pay for your stuff and then go back and pick it up any time on or after monday. you are all welcome. unfortunately i only got one BoO shirt because shit was already raided by the time i got there today...
