I wear a 31w in Diesel and am just wondering what my size would be in APC New Standards. I've read that they also use vanity sizing and people tend to size down 1-3 sizes so I'm thinking a 30w might be the way to go?

if that's true, that's ridiculous. Diesel is already 2-3 sizes smaller and here APC should be sized down from Diesel 1-2 sizes.

Your Nudie size is smaller than your Diesel size???
Also, I read DH 19cm are very similar to the APC Cures for cut, is this true?

my nudie size is smaller than diesel for the RRDS cut only. other cuts it is the same.
i haven't tried on any Diors so i don't know for sure about the similarities but i think the dior is slightly less tapered due to the inseam length. I mean, there's got to be a reason people are buying diors at 2x the apc price, right? and i'm not convinced it's a quality issue... someone like jskidder or whoever has tried both would know better than me.

yes because it's 'designer' denim. People who buy it say it's because of the 'fit' but that's subjective. Quality appears to be subpar for the price range.
I'll also never understand people who pay 100 grand for a car when there is a faster one for 50 grand.
off topic, I found this old thread with this guys APC's. It's one of the best fades I've seen. Take a look...
I washed my A.P.C. New Standards again. That makes 2 washes so far. One at six months and one just now at about 8.5 months. Take a look:
Deadstock:
No Wash @ 4 Months:
Wash No. 1 @ 6 Months:
Wash No. 2 @ 8.5 Months:

okay so basically APC and Dior fit almost the same? where do they differ? except the length of course. because im trying to get into raw denim other than the DDG stuff... i dont wanna really get into the hardcore jap stuff so i m trying to decide between APC and Dior. i mean if Dior is really worth the money over APC i would do it. but if they are basically the same fit with marginal difference in materials.... idk what should i do?!

^ i would just go with APC if you want fades. i could be wrong, but i seem to recall Diors being hard to fade...
plus, if you go with apc (or any other brand with a lower price point, see below) and decide raw isn't for you, youre not out 300+. it's really not even a brandwhore thing because if someone notices you're wearing dior, they'd probably know APC too (small pockets and the shape of them).
other cheaper non-jap brands:
Good society
Academi
Naked & Famous (very new, don't know the quality)
5ep (blue line, non selvage are available at Dresscodes and Bloomingdales)
feel free to add to this anyone, i'm tired of thinking...

well actually i dont really like the look of worn out raw denim too much. i just like the look and feeling they have when they are new and stuff. so if i do get apc i was going to soak them like jskidder had suggested in the other thread to lose all the starch(?). so the fade factor is not what im considering between APC and Dior. actually i dont even give a shit about materials as long as they dont like blow out at the crotch (which i heard they dont). so im just wondering if someone could tell me how they differ on the fit. if they are similar i will go with APC. if dior is better fitting for a skinny person like me then i will go with the diors.

they don't fit anywhere near the same. its hard to compare, they are just different. and apc has long inseams, too. the apc new cures are skinnier and the new standards are looser compared to 19cm. there is a big difference in how they feel on, but you really need to try them on to see how they compare. both are good pants. in all honesty, dior isn't all that much better in quality of denim comparatively. certainly not enough to justify being over twice as much based on denim quality alone.

^ok so i went to the APC store today finally tried on the New Cures. i first tried on the 25 their smallest size and i was able to get my leg in but i couldnt do ANY of the buttons so that one was a no go. then i tried on the 26 and i was able to button up everything except the top one. so at this point im curious as to how much these will stretch. i know APC stretches alot thru reading SUFU's APC thread but theres no mention of the New Cures cut specifically being very stretchy. everyone in that thread seems to wear New Standards... so is the stretch factor between these two cuts exactly the same? i didnt try on a 27 but they will definitely fit no doubt but they mite be too loose.
as for the fit... i loved how stiff the jeans were. that + lengthy inseam created awesome looking stacks for me. however idk if its because iam so used to thanaz's loose waist and ass but OMG THESE FLATTENED MY ASS. like my already small ass was flaT. so idk if i really like that look... will it stretch enough in the back to unsquish it? rofl. idk my ass looked kinda funny. and the thighs werent as tight as i expected to be from a size 26. Crap. what to do.

same denim=same stretch factor. if you couldn't do any of the buttons at all on the 25 though, they may not stretch enough. sounds like the 26 might be the right waist size, but if the thighs are too loose they won't work in the long run since that area will also stretch a lot. too bad they don't make a 25.5. maybe you should go to the dior boutique and see if the 19cm or maybe 17.5cm sheer fit you better. i'm guessing they might work for you.

I really can't imagine how you managed to get your jeans buttoned up if you are a 33 in Diesel, and a 29 in APC Sigmatic.
Also the brass knuckle fade is very very lame.

werd. that brass knuckle fade is totally whack.
and i agree about the sizing as well. i have never heard of anyone going down more than 1 size from diesel for new standards or new cures.
