I've sold a belt 3 weeks ago to a bidder with 0 feedback. He/she first couldn't transfer the money, then wanted to send me the money in an envelope (wasn't that much). I've opened an unpaid item claim now. But that's not my intention to trade on ebay.

I think ebay is for some people a place to look and want, but not to pay

My next auctions will be defined with the option that bidders with 0 feedback will be refused. This is possible.

ebay is the largest marketplace in the internet i know. If we use this marketplace we are forced to accept that some people suck...as it is in real life.

Hope you get your item (paid with paypal?) or even get your money back.

Plastic, are you a member at AF? Mike (Treasurehoard) is starting a new website called Authentic Avenue and we've been talking about it quite a bit over there. It's going to be a really cool site and with all the issues you have had with ebay it's something you should look into!!

I AM a member but I always forget that I am I haven't been on there for a few months at least. That sounds cool though! I don't know why I have such bad luck with ebay.

I went through a time like that. I started posting that if you had between 0-10 feedback you must contact me first. I took it off more recently, but I haven't had a non-payer in quite a while. I haven't had many with 0 feedback either, though.

I might have it so no one with 0 can bid.

I get people (less than 5 posts) wanting to buy my stuff from the mall here, they PM me, I send them invoice but they never pay lol

^^I get that ALL the time- and they're always international buyers. I hate to discriminate, but man, I can't afford to lose out by doing transactions like that. I know everyone has to start out somewhere, but I think it's helpful to at least post a few times in the forum so people know you're not just here to scam.

My listings DO have the 0 feedback rule. This person obviously wanted these jeans pretty bad because they bid and bid and bid then just decided to do a BIN at the last minute. But no response or email or anything. I just filed an UID so hopefully that will get things rolling. I want my damn $50!

i think its cause bidding is fun but paying isnt. maybe if apple created an app store game where kids just bid on fake (not like counterfeit but like items that are just part of the game get it) items people would stop bidding on my beads.

^ Good idea. Well I know that when I first started ebay I didn't understand how to pay for my item. The seller had to walk me through the process. Hmmmm...

nothing beats selling on ebay, you won't get any exposure elsewhere for selling jeans like you would on ebay.

on the flipside, 0 fb buyers can back out now and leave you a neg for no reason. So they really have to do something about that.

It feels nice to tell the truth as a buyer without having to worry but buyers rarely tell the truth if something upsets them in the slightest. Every buyer loves the fb changes and every seller hates it.

I just noticed this post was a few months old, but I have this rule in place in my auctions as well depending on what I am selling. Given shady 0 feedback experience in the past, if I don't hear anything prior to bid I either cancel and block or contact prior to discuss. Another option is to use paypal with immediate payment feature. Of course people shy away from this, but if you price your items right, you should do fine.
