I bought him because I did a ton of research and he was the most suitable cat for me. The smallest domestic breed, VERY social and friendly. Sleeps under the covers and "helps" in every activity. I view a pet as a member of my family...and a worthwhile investment. I hope he lives to be a ripe old age and I am willing to make an investment to ensure a desirable temperament.
There are also people who don't buy expensive purses for their status, but rather for the unsurpassed quality of the workmanship and their sheer artistry.

Oh no....
This is why I LURVE longcat! I LOVE BIG CATS!!!! I don't care if it's pure or moggie, but I must say the biggest, longest, huge pawed monsters are usually moggies. I LOVE BIG CATS!
I can't get a big enough cat! I will even skip the whole kitten stage to try to get a cat that I know is going to be big. I just wish I was allowed to say "screw it" and buy a tiger.
Until then... give me those big looooong huge cats!
